End of the World Tour 2012

February 17th I attended the End of the World tour located at The Nile Theater in Mesa, Arizona and though I was unable to see Mayday Parade, I did watch three amazing bands do what they love.

Slade Echeverria of Anarbor
Anarbor opened their hometown sold out show with Always Dirty, Never Clean and the crowd went wild resulting in quite a few crowd surfers. The crowd was surprised as the guys did a mash up of Someone Like You by Adele and their own song Mr. Bigshot, as they approached mid set Slade Echeverria, lead vocals and bass, introduced the bands new live guitarist, Dave Melillo. The guys then got the crowd pumped when they played their new song Whiskey In Hell and certainly received a positive reaction then ending with Let the Games Begin.
Cameron Leahy of The Downtown Fiction
The games definitely began after that as The Downtown Fiction of Fairfax, Virginia opened their set with Out in the Streets from their Pineapple EP. The boys then played quite a few songs from their recent album “Let’s Be Animals” and got the crowd moving as they played each and every song.  They then ended with I Just Wanna Run which was a sure fire crowd pleaser.
Travis Clark of We The Kings
After watching two amazing sets from two very different bands the crowd was definitely pumped and ready to see the next amazing band. As We the Kings of Bradenton, Florida walked onstage the crowd went crazy then opening the show with She Takes Me High. As Secret Valentine was played the crowd held up red hearts that said “Secret Valentine” that were given out to those who arrived to the venue early. As the set began to slow it down Travis Clark, lead vocals, began to play his rendition of I’m Yours by Jason Mraz leading up to an acoustic version of Heaven Can Wait.  As the guys of We the Kings all headed back to the stage, the crowd was definitely shocked then ecstatic as the first note of Jimmy Eat World’s The Middle was played. They then ended the show with, in Travis’ words “My favorite song from our very first album…” Check Yes Juliet and it couldn’t have ended on a better note.
The End of the World tour was a great show with amazing music and a crowd that was definitely pumped and ready for an amazing night. Check out the dates below to see if these amazing men are coming to a town near you, trust me you won’t regret it!
